  • SHAC Counseling Services:

SHAC acknowledges the chronic and acute stress that members of sexual and gender minorities experience because of prejudice and discrimination.

Discriminatory experiences contribute to negative health outcomes, due to trauma made complicated by adverse life experiences: bullying, family rejection, employment discrimination, violence victimization and delayed healthcare.

Mental health services focus on facilitating emotional awareness, regulation, and acceptance. Medical and Counseling treatment plans support empowerment, identifying unique strengths, and build supportive therapeutic relationships by affirming healthy, rewarding expression of sexuality and/or gender affirming lives.
