Impact of Racism in America
June 5, 2020
The healthcare providers and staff of Student Health and Counseling want to express our solidarity and support for the marginalized and traumatized members of our community and acknowledge the tragic and harmful impact of racism in America. We join you and all of those across the nation who hope for and are working toward a future in which everyone is represented, cared for, and safe. We also acknowledge that there is a high toll on every member of our community as long as the “Racism Pandemic” continues; increased mental distress and illness, healthcare disparities, and the potential for spikes in COVID-19 transmission rates as people take to the streets in protest. If you need help addressing any of these issues please contact SHAC for counseling and medical assistance. We are here.
