Student to Student - SHAC and DOS Services

October 27, 2022 - Alex Romo

Hello everyone,

Alex Romo is sitting on grass at UNM.My name is Alex Romo, a senior at the University of New Mexico in the College of Education and Human Sciences majoring in Community Health Education. I am pleased to be able to study in a field that will allow me to benefit the well-being of individuals and am excited to be doing my field experience with Student Health and Counseling and Dean of Students. This semester, I am a part of the Lobo Prevention Pack (LPP), which educates students and staff about COVID-19 safety precautions. As a member of the LPP, our main goal is to make everyone feel safe, make wholesome choices, and live a healthy lifestyle. If you have any questions, feel free to throw them my way!

As a student at UNM for the last four years, I realized that I did not know much about the resources that were available to me. Therefore, I wanted to make sure that other students did not have to go through that same obstacle. Because health is essential, it is crucial to understand the services SHAC and DOS offers to students. This semester, keep an eye out for my infographics posted around campus highlighting services you may never have known about. If you see me on campus, tell this Scorpio, “Hey!”.

Go Lobos!

Best,

Alex
