Insurance - Labs

As of 10/05/2023: 

  • Laboratory orders not processed at SHAC are sent to TriCore for processing.
  • TriCore will bill your insurance if we have it on file at the time your labs are collected.  It is your responsibility to keep your insurance and contact information up to date.
  • Questions regarding any TriCore invoice should be directed to TriCore.

  • Some Insurance plans have agreements with Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp (NOT TRICORE). Avoid paying out-of-network prices by first checking with your insurance (AETNA & Presbyterian) before getting Labs. SHAC will provide a LAB order for you to take elsewhere.

SHAC Lab (Expired 10/04/2023)

Few labs are done in-house. The majority of lab work is sent to Tricore for processing. Tricore will bill participating insurance plans that SHAC has an agreement with. If you are uninsured, SHAC will bill you through your Bursar’s account. If you have an insurance that we do not have an agreement with, Tricore Reference Labs will automatically bill your insurance. Some Insurance plans have agreements with Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp (NOT TRICORE).
