New Medical Director for SHAC: Anju Manral, MD
February 21, 2019
We are excited to announce and welcome SHAC’s new Medical Director: Anju Manral, MD.
Dr. Manral, an internal medicine physician, has most recently been practicing at the UNM Northeast Heights Family Health Clinic caring for a wide range of patients both across the lifespan and with multiple health concerns. In her role, she is an Assistant Professor through the UNM General Internal Medicine Department and also serves as a Health Science “Learning Community Mentor” for UNM Medical students.
Dr. Manral has vast medical experience which began in her home country of India. After graduating with honors from the University of Delhi, she practiced in a federally funded clinic in India. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2007 and in addition to primary care has practiced as a hospitalist eventually with a focus in Palliative Care.
Dr. Manral’s other professional interests include integrative medicine; provisions for health care to a diverse population; and economic concerns in the delivery of health care throughout the United States. She will be graduating with a Master in Business Administration from the UNM Anderson School of Business in August.
We are confident that with Dr. Manral’s vast medical experience, her devotion to education in the health care of students, and her interest in refining the delivery of health care to all populations, she will only be a shining asset to UNM Student Health and Counseling.
Welcome Dr. Manral.
