Counseling Services: Fees for Service

Students are not required to have health insurance to be seen in Counseling Services. Services are funded in part by student activity fees. However, there are fees for most visits, as well as a “no-show/late cancellation” fee.

(You can also pick up a fee schedule at the Counseling Services Reception Desk.)

Please note:

    • All appointments must be cancelled by 3 p.m. of the previous day (or by 3 p.m. on Friday for a Monday appointment), to avoid charges for a “no-show” or “late-cancellation.” After-hour messages regarding cancellations may be left on the Counseling Services phone line (277-4537).
    • Student insurance will help defray the costs of care. It will not cover charges for “no-shows” or “late cancellations.”
    • Between July 1st and June 30th of the following year, a student can receive up to 20 therapy sessions, dependent upon the assessment of clinical need. The average treatment length is 5-8 sessions. The therapist, in consultation with the student, will make a decision about the number of sessions needed per treatment episode after the initial assessment.
    • You will be charged for release of clinical records to self, attorneys, or insurance companies.
